When I get to the second area, my PC seems to visibly struggle with it, with a very noticeable framerate drop that I find very distracting. I'm playing on a gaming laptop so I'm not sure why it'd be having trouble with a 2D puzzle game.

I'm struggling quite a bit with these levels, to the point where I'm sometimes spending more than an hour on the 'easier' levels of this world. I'm currently around 2 hours in on 'Crossed Paths' and I just can't get it. I'm constantly going round in circles doing the same thing. There's something about the gravity changing mechanic that just adds a ridiculous layer of complexity for me. Could I get a hint on Crossed Paths? I feel like there must be a trick I'm just not seeing...

Only spent just over an hour on it so far but can tell this is something refined and clever. Same vibes as Snakebird/SSR for sure.

If you undo quickly after touching a horizontal gravity beam from the side while merged vertically (and I imagine it is similar with a vertical beam and horizontal merge), the orientation of the segment who went into the gravity beam is erroneously swapped. This can be replicated in the level Break Through....
