A very sad case of style over substance. The art and animations? Incredible. The music? Really nice, especially the battle themes.

But alas, everything else is lacking. It wants to be Persona 5 so badly, but misses several things that make people enjoy that game.

The overworld is vibrant and nice to run around in, but since your social stats level up so quickly and cap early, a lot activities seem pointless. Quests often give lackluster rewards or just flat out no rewards at all, not giving you much incentive to complete them. Dialogue is strangely verbose, with even the main characters who are tweens speaking like they've just devoured a thesaurus with a dictionary for dessert, it's rather distracting especially considering it takes place in the 60s/70s.

Meanwhile, the battle system seems to be oriented around inflicting ailments, except regular enemies usually die too quickly to justify using them or have massive amounts of health that say, burning them adds a tiny amount of chip damage. Bosses tend to resist or are completely immune to ailments as well, making a huge chunk of spells completely useless. Enemies dying so quickly is an issue because this game has a tacked on SMT/Persona demon recruiting and fusion system, too. Requiring you to knock them all down before getting the chance to recruit them, but often times they just die before you get the chance.

Kudos to the art and music team, less so much to the rest. It's a shame, the concept is great. 1960s Scooby-Doo adventures with an RPG flair but it's been bungled here.

This is a wonderful and overall well put together game. If you're a fan of persona then this is a lighter and chilled out version of that. It's baby persona. Even if you're not familiar with Persona it's a cute and enjoyable RPG that isn't too long.
The dialogue is overall well written, even if it does that have that effect of 12 year olds talking like they're late teens. The cast of characters compliment each other and are enjoyable to spend time with.
The life sim elements are fun though they do lack a bit of depth. The town of Bloomtown is fun to traverse, with plenty to see and being mindful of day/time schedule. Overall the game doesn't punish you in the way Persona does and by that I mean it doesn't have a calendar system. You have all the time you need to work your summer job if you want to earn money to buy all the best items, and you have all the time to level up your frienships etc.
The combat is fun without being difficult and it's also where the AMAZING SOUNDTRACK comes in. The day time has cute and quaint songs, but during combat I was blown away. The combat tracks have no business being this catchy! After a couple of house of playing I was catching myself delaying the end of a fight in order to hear the songs, and I have already found the ost on youtube to listen to outside of this game. Bravo, kudos and generally ♥♥♥♥ yeah to those tracks!
The graphics are cute and inviting. Coming after Graveyard keeper the art style is a little different but it works and there's actually quite a lot to see on the screen if you take the time to scan everything. Top work!
Overall, this game works as a one and done, but at the same time I would be interested to see a sequel to this with more depth given to all the mechanics.

Criticisms: Some of the quests are not explained well (mushroom puzzle) and sometimes I used guides because I wans't sure what to do. The fishing minigame makes sense once you know how it works, but there's no tutorial. I watched a youtube video to see how it's done and then it clicked. The crossword puzzles are harsh because you only get one chance. So definitely get your phone out for those ones if you want the achievement and don't want to save scum :p

Overall this game is a persona clone but with heart and great soundtrack. It's perfect for persona fans who want something chill while they wait for Atlus to release the next entry. It's a game that I played during the summer and in that context it's perfect. It's short, very sweet, and the soundtrack is well worth ringing in your ears. 8.5/10

Eh, l irreparably lost my first gameplay attempt after half an hour because the quest GUi is really bad and spams the top of the screen with endless nonsense and so the quest objectives are always super unclear and because of this I was under the impression that if I gathered the ten dandelions the event would end and I wouldn't be able to find the girl, so I went to look for the girl, got sucked into the treehouse, the game auto saved for the first time inside the treehouse, so I could not go back to finish the dandelion quest and failed it and screwed up the entire run, and I had been getting super lucky on rolls. So it kinda killed my interest right away because of its quirky nonsense. I might start over eventually and play it again, bit idk, I was enjoying the run I was on and now I lost it and kinda don't want to start again. It's stupid that it took 30 minutes to start auto saving and then auto saved three times in under three minutes but AFTER I was already ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and would have to erase the file and start over. Guess I'm glad I got it on sale because it wasn't worth 25.

Amazing

I absolutely adored this game. The visuals were great, little details that added so much. The music is absolutely epic, battle music FTW. The storyline is captivating, with twists and turns. If you're looking for a JRPG Semi-horror (adult discussions so not for kids) and something with exploring, questing, turn based battles (super fun) and more, this is 100% the game for you.

I even managed to make it my first series of let's plays on YouTube! (The Nixx Gaming) if anyone is interested.

All in all, a super game. Really and truly.
