First of all, the original pricing of 59,99 for this is ridiculous.
You'll get about 8 hours of playtime, don't really see time worthy replay value, so I only recommend buying this for about 10€ / $10.

Won't spoil any further, but basically you play a cargo pilot, and while transporting goods from one Jupiter moon to another, your ship is ambushed and crashes.
You'll get arrested and don't even know why, then you try to escape....

It has an incredible level of detail, gorgeous lighting effects, and very good graphics overall, even though the game has no proper mirror reflections, which is sad.

I like the 3D print upgrade function, the animations look neat.
The way the character moves around corners in air vents, on the other hand, looks kinda awkward.

The game is challenging. I honestly checked several times if I really set the game to the lowest difficulty.

And it's a lot more gory than I expected. You can cut limbs and take people apart almost like in Dying Light.

Combat in this game is not really my thing, because it gets more and more tedious over time.
Melee is fun, but since the game keeps popping up more and more random enemies, some that appear out of nowhere, I got tired of it and annoyed.
That's when I started to only print ammo and to Annie Oakley myself through the game, instead of looking for collectibles.

During battles, you often don't even have time to heal, because the enemies kill you before the character finally finishes the healing animation.

Wanna go stealth?
Yeah, good luck with that. In some areas it works, in others it seems to be broken, and some random TADAAAA tentacle enemy will attack you anyway and attract the rest.

And maybe there are people that think it's fun to repetitively play the same combat situations like "open box, enemy jumps out" or "go around corner, tentacle enemy yeets himself towards you".

I think it's lazy game design.

It also happens in other situations, like meet Dani, everything is good, you suddenly fall down.
This happens 3 times, or 4 times. I stopped counting.

It happens too often, and judging by the resources the developers had, they could have really added more variety and not just the same thing over and over.

Is the game still worth it?
Yes, I liked the story and was really curious how it will all end, so I sucked it up and kept playing.

Surprised by amount of negative reviews this game got. I don't think it deserve that much hate.

Its very linear 10-hour action (if you don't die a lot like me), not particularly scary but enjoyable. Yeah, its nowhere near Dead Space but i don't really care about that comparison. It has solid cast with Josh Duhamel as lead and Sam Witwer with Karen Fukuhara as supports doing mocap and voice work and they did great job. As for a plot - its not great but its functional enough to keep you playing till the end. And i got to be honest here, ending is meh, felt like "lets wrap it up already" and final boss fight is underwhelming. Also game has mid boss fights and its basically same monster variant we encounter 4 times, i think it was pretty lazy. Also what is lazy is audio logs in this game that can be found through exploration. I always enjoyed finding them in any game, i think its a good way for developers to improve world building in their games. But here logs are just plain bad, most of them are like couple of voiced sentences and they got no interesting story or character development behind them. I remember how i found secret room and there was nothing good there besides some 5-seconds audio log and few shotgun rounds.

What stood out for me is two things. First - its really pretty game, like really gorgeous looking. Snow storm at Callisto surface, prison environments, destroyed lab corridors, hell, even sewers look absolutely stunning. Monsters and characters models look great, mocap is well used, cinematic moments happen every 10 minutes. This game has photo mode and i used it a lot because its just so damn pretty all the time. Also right now all optimization issues that game had on launch are gone and it runs well and show amazing quality on my sad toaster of PC. Its just so refreshing to saw screenshots on steam store page and have same graphics in-game with no troubles at all. I also didn't encounter any game-breaking bugs that many people complain about here, it was very smooth experience.

And second thing that i really liked is action. Its a mix of hand-to-hand combat with third person shooter with pinch of telekinesis. You have this prison guard baton and gameplay is evading attacks from monsters while waiting to counter them with your baton and finish them off with your guns and use telekinetic glove to kill monsters using environments. I like how simple evading is here, how beautifully animated was combat. You feel weight from every punch, every fight feel like kill or be killed high stakes encounter, you ripping monsters flesh and after every fight you covered with blood and guts of your enemies. I suggest to play this game with cheat on credits, it will allow you to fully upgrade your guns on one playthrough and just have fun with them.

In conclusion, i had my fun with this game, i get the criticism (its fair) but it was solid 7 out of 10 game for me and its worth to buy it with big discount or play it for free on Epic if you grabbed it there. Just don't waste your money on Final Transmission DLC, it sucks, you better off to watch that terrible new ending on youtube. My mistake was to buy it instead of Riot Mode dlc. Well, i guess will grab it on next sale and go back to smashing monsters to bits.

I was enjoying this game but all of a sudden it black screened and I have been unable to play it since. I cant be bothered restarting the game all over again just for it to black screen again, its a shame as I was enjoying it.
