Necrosmith 2 is an improvement but feels more like Necrosmith 1.5.

This little tower defense was a neat grindy gimmick that was further built upon in this game.
The stupid AI was a big negative in the prequel. Now we have 5 different commands. Better, I guess.

Alawar's pixel art is beautiful as usual but felt a bit uninspired compared to the first game.
The new units look fine, the older ones received a visual upgrade which made them more cartoony.
Majority of the recipes were taken from the 1st game, which I don't mind, but the new recipes should have been more!

I still wish we could create ridiculous builds like: five headed torso, or many-legged centipede. Special combinations that would result in unique summoning, something like: 6 heads = DnD Beholder. Or how about Fusion? Mixing existing recipes to create true chimeras or centaurs?
What we got were huge Titans... I ain't complaining, but far too few pieces for titans and a limit of 4 at a time.

My tip: Get the artifact that temporarily speeds your units up after sacrificing a body part. As it stacks, keep sacrificing dozens for 1000+ speed. Now you have Titans speeding through the entire map in seconds. :D


Necrosmith 2 is more refined, has new features and an endless mode.
But I expected and wished there was a bit more.
Nice little game nevertheless.

The same garbo problems this studio has with other games.

They can't spend any time figuring out how to only show their intro cinematic ONCE, so every time you launch their games you have to mash the skip button.

And they have no mid-session save system. They literally have achievements for making the game run over an hour in a single round and they expect me to rawdog that all at once?

Like their other games, their value is in the ideas and not the polish or execution. The ideas are INCREDIBLE. But as soon as you try to look into the user experience, it falls apart.
