I have been wondering about something, and admittedly it's really trivial and pointless, but I was thinking about the clans like Ikko and Otomo, the ones that were added through DLC. I'm assuming that before the DLC came out, there were different clans occupying those provinces? Or were the DLC clans already in the game but as minor clans thus not playable? I don't know why but I really want to know. Does anyone remember?...

I literally just give up at that point, theres Nothing my absolutely mediocre skill at unit management can do against like 20+ ashigaru of several types + samurai. I have a large army, just not.. large enough to deal with whatever this is or tank deaths from 6+ Bow Ashigaru units I always get stuck with chosokabe against miyoshi due to this (Do AI just.. have infinite money?) they have 1 province...

you need to buy the full game unfortunately. due to the fact that creative assembly gave the full game including the DLCs for free they forgot to update the code for people who only paid only for the base not the DLCs. thanks to this made it impossible to load the game for though people who got lost in the shuffle . To fix this you need to buy both DLCS to fix the nonexistent problem...
