Hi everyone, small new update!

As of this release, the available translations are:

We also updated the supporter pack to add Japanese and an image from Tamaghost Jump! Once again, thank you to all the translators who are helping make the game accessible to so many more people around the world! More translations are on their way as well.

• Revised the conditions that trigger a small cutscene with Aoi.
  
• Fixed a minor issue with the first crow save.
  
• Fixed a minor graphical glitch when feeding your TamaGhost™.
  
• Fixed an issue that could get the player stuck when looking at the large tree for the first time.
  
• Fixed a dialogue line that wouldn't play during a conversation with Rune.
  
• Fixed some dialogue with Sai about burnt fuses.
  
• Fixed some missing periods and grammatical errors.

Chapter 2 has been advancing at a very slow pace... (we needed to give some time to irl responsibilites)! We don't want to reveal anything just yet, but we're really excited to work on this chapter. Let's just say it'll be more "chaotic" than Chapter 1, due to a new character being introduced.

As for the game as a whole, we're currently trying to find the best way to slice the game down to more workable pieces, so that development goes smoother than it went for Chapter 1 (and we get the game in your hands in a reasonable time). As some of you might have noticed at the end of Chapter 1, the last save file has Sai's sprite on it. This means you'll be able to play as him occasionally (as well as possibly other characters throughout the game)! Going forward, it will help to get a few different perspectives.

Regarding the more technical side, we're also progressing on porting the engine to Godot 4. It's... quite a massive task. After fixing over 2000 compilation errors and dozens of problems when launching the game, it finally works! Sort of.
Not really.
It's a mess.

The game gets to the title screen, but not without tripping over itself in the process...
We even managed to go in-game! If you can call it that...
In fact, you can't even interact with anything. It's cursed.

We'll fix it little by little.

On another note...

Hi everyone! This is our first patch with translations! The current available translations are:

Several other translations are in progress right now so we'll update the game gradually with a few new languages at a time when they're ready! We want to sincerely thank everyone who has worked on these translations (and those who are currently working on some)! We also fixed some extra bugs, you can find the patch notes below:

Hi everyone! This is a pretty big patch, hopefully the last one for a while! Once again, thank you to all who emailed us bug reports!

• The game will now do its best to gracefully recover after a dead end or crash, to prevent losing too much progress.
  
• Added a setting to control whether the "Skip" option shows up when dying (it no longer depends on death count).
  
• Renamed "Skip Dialogue" setting to "Hold to Fast Forward".
  
• Player is now prevented from picking up jar or lamp if they already took the other one.
  
• Fishing is now a little faster.
  
• Added the ability to leave a flower at the grave.
  
• Added the ability to skip the painting chase sequence.
  
• Added a few more item hints to Spider.
  
• Fixed menu disabled during Ending 4 (not that it will help you).
  
• Fixed an issue that could prevent Kett from waking up when he should.
  
• Fixed phone battery draining when only using it for a bit.
  
• Fixed camera getting offset when you entered bushes in the Locked Site.
  
• Fixed some corners where Mr. Locked Site couldn't reach you. You will never be safe again.

• Fixed an issue where dying at the very last second of the boss fight caused strange behavior.
  
• Exterminated all in-game typos.
  
• Removed a bunch of useless data.
  
• Various other minor fixes.

Hi all! Here we are again with another round of changes that address the gameplay experience in a few areas:

• Improved on the design of the puzzle in the station tracks, as many players were getting stuck.
  
• Fixed an out of bounds situation in the forest station.
  
• Added a shiny on the note near the Lakeside boat, as it was hard to spot.
  
• The papers on the wall of the Lakeside Temple fell down, as a result they are now more noticeable by players.
  
• Added a small hint if the player tries to unclog the pipes in an unintended way.
  
• The first doorknob is now selected by default when interacting with the cursed door.
  
• Fixed some minor texts in Miss Knives' house.
  
• Fixed some in-game typos.

We'll have another update soon for a few remaining items, then we can get to the translations!

• Added missing foliage to a Station Tracks map.

• Fixed an issue where Kozmo was doomed to die once you entered the Locked Site.

• Fixed an issue where you couldn't skip the spikes minigame near Red's Treehouse.

• Fixed a Steam typo that stated that the achievement "Rune's Friend" required 6 runes when it requires 4.
  
• Station tracks puzzle now resets and behaves properly if you leave towards the left.

Hi everyone!

Please forgive us for not posting often enough on Steam, our community management skills are... debatable.

It's been a while and we're grateful for everyone's patience.

We're happy to announce that Paper Lily Chapter 1 (sequel to Project Kat) is out now!

It took a long time to get this game on Steam. Last year we encountered lots of new challenges and our itch.io release worried us a bit. We weren't ready for a Steam release until the game reached a certain level of quality. It's hard to be satisfied when there's always an opportunity to improve things and add more fun features, but... I think we finally have a version of the game that we're proud of, and that also takes in consideration everyone's feedback.

All this to say, it's finally ready!

This chapter takes about 3-4 hours to complete, give or take, but if you're feeling completionist and want to see all the different paths and endings, it will take you much, much longer. It is also free (because we're masochists, I guess).

Heads up, due to all the changes we made, for those of you that have already played Paper Lily, your old save files will no longer work. We tried to avoid this as best as we could, so we apologize for the inconvenience.
On the bright side, there are now going to be 30 save slots so you can try and retry things to your heart's content!
