Everything up to the point of the third boss seems manageable, then this boss shows up with it's attacks that hit all but a narrow vertical slice of the screen, and getting hit enough inflicts a status effect that simply drains health until my character dies. Is there some trick I'm missing with this boss or is it basically a DPS check?...

... not online co-op? :( As someone who pretty much exclusively has friends abroad this was a bit disappointing to see. Is it really that much harder to give peer-to-peer online play for games like this? I'm not a developer so obviously I don't know what the back-end trouble would be, but if there's any chance of squeezing online functionality into it I think that'd be pretty neat.
