There is no other place where the world of Tolkein is better represented than in this game. Here, it comes to life. The game itself has its problems, but if you like Tolkein, you can find beauty in this game.

Truly beautiful and cozy MMORPG.

Sunk so many hours into this MMO. Definitely worth looking into if you're a Tolkien fan.

Wonderful mmorpg that ticks all the boxes for me:-
Absolutely massive world, which grows year by year. Some players groan about the graphics - I am not sure why, I can see what I need to see.
The devs do add content year by year - this is my 5th year and I am just over half way to level cap. I am in this for the journey.
Sticks fairly closely to Tolkein's Middle Earth lore. I still find the world a joy to visit.
A variety of toons to play and the playstyles can be tweaked a bit.
Rich amount of crafting (gear, buffs, decorations) for players to enjoy.
Have found the players tend to be very helpful on the server, (am playing on Gladden), which is also a plus for me. I tend to play solo a bit and it helps when lost or stuck on the quest ending :)
It's FREE .... this is not a pay to win game. If you put in a bit of time with crafting and playing, there is no need to pay. Although personally, I am thinking of a sub soon - after 5 years of playing, I think it is worth it to support this game and it's devs.

Swashbuckling as a river hobbit mariner is a blast. Most of the classes in lotro are a good time tbqh, but a salty fencing hobbit is something spectacular to behold. Reepicheep has nothing on her lol

We are really looking forward to our server getting that 64 bit hardware upgrade in the future. I'll definitely reactivate my sub for that much anticipated improvement.

This game is one of the best MMORPGs out there. It's older but it is still fun, and you get to meaningfully progress your character, without your progression resetting every season. You don't have to do all of that work and then have it erased like in other popular games. Plus, it's the best LOTR game out there at the moment.

The best MMO. I've been playing for 17 years. Started by myself when I was a teenager, nowadays, wife and family play with me. Honestly, I can't think of a MMO that thinks more of the fans and the community than LOTRO!

Kudos to the Devs, SSG, and Daybreak (even the old Turbine) for keeping the work for all these years. To another 17!
