Islands of Insight | What's Next

30 września

Update Oct. 30: Islands of Insight is now offline-only.

Seekers, our final Islands of Insight update will arrive on October 30, 2024, which will permanently modify the game to be offline-only. This will allow Islands of Insight to live on for all Seekers to find and enjoy, while we focus our efforts onto our next projects.

For what to expect, here is what you need to know:

The online servers will officially shutdown on October 30, 2024
Any online progression that is not transferred before October 30 will be lost
There are no plans for more content to support the offline version
All the online features will no longer be available
Puzzles will continue to respawn throughout all zones
There will be no bug fixes/balance changes with the final update, however we are reducing the frequency of player position saving in response to community feedback about SSD wear and potential file corruption.

How to transfer your progression:

Launch the game, and choose Play Online
In the main menu, select Account and Click on Download Gameplay Progress
A confirmation popup will appear: Click on Download Progress to start the download
After a few seconds, confirmation that the download was successful will appear and you are all done
Exit the game, and start it again, but this time select Play Offline to continue playing your own progression.

**Additional note: if you had already previously downloaded progression, the button will display “Override Progress” instead. You can decide if you want to replace it with your current online progression or not.

One of the few games I truly enjoy, as I absolutely love puzzles.
After playing for 12 hours I'm not even close to finishing it, and I'm not even at 1% completion.

However, I bought this game and let it sit in my library for a while before playing, and in that time the developers moved everything offline, removed all multiplayer aspects, gave 30 days notice to transfer players data, left bugs that require a mod to fix, and more.

If they at least opened the code or gave players the option to host a server, or just didn't abandon the game after less than a year, maybe this would be a positive review.

Really fun puzzle game, but abandoned by the Developers in an awful way.
I will continue playing this, but I am NEVER buying another game from this team, as I can no longer trust them to not pull this stunt again.

Some appreciation

Its a shame that many players don't understand that game development is a business. If the game didn't make enough money to continue to update, they have no choice but to shut down the servers. The game is still fully playable offline, so we can still appreciate the incredible designed puzzles in this beautifully crafted world.
