Hey there! Thanks for checking out Deadbeat!

I've been working mostly solo on this game for years now, and it's great to have it out where I can show people!

That said, while the game is finished, there are still improvements I'd like to make! So here's a tentative preview of updates in the future:


Deadbeat's musician, Gusty, is hard at work on the game's soundtrack! Once the whole thing is nice and polished up, it'll be released here on Steam and wherever else he wants it, as well as having more songs added to the game, plus a fun little pop-up that tells you when a song is playing and what its name is!


Deadbeat's code behind the scenes is, let's be frank, spaghetti. I've been working on untangling this spaghetti, but it's gonna be some time before I can re-stack the jenga tower that is the codebase now that I've knocked it over in a separate code branch.

That said... once it's finished, I'll be able to do a *lot* of fun stuff! More stability, more consistency, up to and including making far more interesting movesets for enemies and bosses!


I don't have anything planned right this second, but I've been contemplating some ways I can add to Deadbeat... that said, any additional content will require me to finish the Overhaul Update first, and it may also depend on player interest! While I love Deadbeat, I've also been working on it for a long time, and unfortunately I need to eat! So unless it's a smash hit beyond my wildest dreams, I'm probably going to say it's complete as is and move onto my next project.
