WitchSpring R is a perfect JPRG for those beginners/younger ones looking to get into the genre and veterans of many JRPGs alike.

The one-man band developer Suyong Jang from KIWIWALKS was able to capture the whimsy and beauty of his original games in this lovely remake/remaster and the passion shows, very comparable to how Granblue Fantasy's Cygames was able to bring that universe from the mobile crowd to the console/PC gaming crowd. The game is paced very well, even for a 100% completion route, my play through rounded out around 22 hours or so for in-game time after rounding up all the achievements. Playing the game on Normal difficulty is a nice breeze and a good starting point for beginners and those trying to enjoy the surprisingly enjoyable and emotional story-- while the higher difficulties will keep veterans engaged with the stat systems and how best to manipulate them towards your preferred play-style. Something about going a strength/agility build and bashing every enemy with a giant sword as a little witch is not only hilarious but also strangely satisfying with how the JRPG battle systems were baked into this one. I strongly recommend picking this gem up when money and time permits... nearly 50% of the people who bought the game saw it to its ending and that is a very uncommon sight to see among games like this. The crafting and combat systems are fully fledged out for a game of this size and the attention to small details and the lovely ghibli-like art and story will melt your heart and demand longer play sessions. I enjoyed not having to deal with random battles while exploring and you can take as much time farming and crafting if that's your jam and the game is easy enough (on normal) to blitz through the entire thing if you want to do that as well. I will spare you any details about the story as I believe it is best experienced first hand, there is many cute and funny moments to accompany those story beats that pull on the heartstrings.

Please play this game! You won't be disappointed.

This game made me cry a couple times, Pieberry is such a cinnamon roll.

Easy recommendation. I have nothing but praise for this game. It's exceptional and fantastic.
If there was anything negative to say, it would be that I want more in some areas.
I wish there were keybinds and the leveling didn't end at stage 5. That's about it, I just would like some more efficiency and progression.
I love this game. I paid 20 something euros for it and it paid off a hundred fold. What a well spent 26 hours.
The story is wholesome, quirky and cute. It's very detail oriented, with lots of setups and payoffs. They even provide explanations for events that seem like they are random. It's very consistent, which I find praiseworthy.
At the core it's the hero's journey, but it's done so well you don't care.
The writing is consistently good as well. Lighthearted and dramatic moments are handled very well. The dialogue never felt forced or out of place.
The gameplay is fun and varied. You're not even forced to stick to using only magic if you wish. You can play a melee fighter and there are plenty of cool swords and armors to use. Very interesting choice for a game about a witch.
It even has a little bit of pokemon going on, where you collect and summon companions for battle and travel.
I really enjoyed the characters. Especially Pieberry, she's such a ray of sunshine. What a great main character.
The most shocking thing to me is that the majority of this game was apparently made by one person (but don't quote me on this, I'm going off the credits at the end. The first 3 pages are the same one name.) So if i'm correct this game is a huge triumph.
This game was such a surprise. I bought it on a whim and had no actual plans of playing it. This is like buying a rusty sword at some guy's yard sale and it turns out to be Excalibur.
KIWIWALKS is now on my radar. Looking forward to future releases.
