I am giving this game a thumbs up with the caveat that I the devs were not lying about their story. As many already know, the developer is from Belarus and was thus denied their kickstarter funding due to the sanctions. They have then chosen to fund this small portion of the game themselves to at least get out some product. Around 90% of the things you see in the trailers are not present in the game, it's around 2 hours long and the bosses are really difficult in an artificial way. It is also incredibly linear and has unintuitive controls for special attacks. Despite that the moment to moment gameplay feels satisfying to play with its focus on sekiro-style deathblows after depleting an enemy's stamina via perfect blocks. The pixel art is really good and the gore when you cut down enemies is gnarly and satisfying to see. There is no story to speak of and it feels more like a tech demo from 2 years ago to be frank, but I am going to go out on a limb and believe these developers that if they ever come into funding, they will relaunch this game with their proper vision realized. Getting a game out at all and not cancelling it alltogether when that ♥♥♥♥ happened to them and self funding this short albeit flawed game is worthy of some respect.
