Arzette: Jewel of Faramore is difficult to seriously give my opinion on as it's the game that will always be known as "CD-I Zelda but good." It almost doesn't matter what any individual person has to say as the meme value would probably sell the game regardless of its actual quality. Thankfully it's very good on top of the gimmick of its existence. It keeps the most memetic elements of the CD-I games, like the duck walk, and some of the jank while not compromising on it being a good game.

The most important improvements from the CD-I games is that the environment is a lot more clear on what you can walk on and what will hurt or kill you, enemy placement and behavior is so much better along with your improved moveset, and there is no life system so you restart from the beginning of a screen when you die and can keep trying forever if you so choose. Also, you start with full health upon death. There is also no grinding as there was in CD-I Zelda. You still need specific projectiles to kill specific enemies, but they use the same ammo which drops all the time. You will never run out.

If you're familiar with the CD-I games, Zelda 2, The Wonder Boy series, or any other side-scrolling action RPG like Aggelos or Phoenotopia, you should be right at home. Keep in mind that this is not a true Metroidvania though; it's a stage-based game where you can return for hidden items or quests. But yeah, this is definitely recommended. It's a lot of fun.

wish there was a thumbs sideways option. gameplay could have been modernized more and backtracking was kinda annoying. that being said if u wanna play a zelda cdi successor for whatever reason this games pretty nice. get it on sale if possible

Unironically one of the best platformers i played this year, the love put in this game is shown in every part, recommended for people who like platformers, i recommend playing it with controllers

When i first bought this game i didn't think i would enjoy it, i'm so glad i was wrong.
This is probably one of the best platformer games i have played in a long time, everything is on point.
From the art style to the voice acting, it feels like a proper CDI game and the music is just the bow on the whole game.

10/10 game, i'll be doing another run soon with the YTP mod added.

If you've ever wanted to play the Zelda CD-I games for any reason beyond morbid curiosity, don't. Play this instead.
If you need more Metroidvanias in your life, play this.
If you enjoy platformers, play this.

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible. My only significant complaint is that some of the characters are pale imitators of characters in the CD-I games (especially this game's equivalent to Morshu), but the game more than makes up for this with other characters who are either hilarious and/or downright adorable (Univor and Zazie my beloved).
