Any tips or help for playing the game.

Imagine my surprise when the game ended with the shortest ending scenes in JRPG history (that also indicate that all choices made during one's playthrough are meaningless) after completing Casali's Castle. I hate it when a game teases, but doesn't deliver. What's with all the locations on the world map that can't be entered even right before going beyond the point of no return? Is there any use for the ship, considering it can't even be utilized to fight the monsters on the sea? The balancing in the final...

I thought I should mention that the repeatable Lacuna Dungeons' balancing feels off sometimes, not only because the Behemoth bosses at the end aren't worth the trouble in terms of EXP/Gold/drops. If I understood correctly, there's some sort of level-scaling or balancing involved in the Lacuna Dungeons, and it probably wouldn't hurt to examine these mechanics once again. My worst experience occurred in Lacuna Dungeon tier 3 at level 20 (which is already the maximum level for this tier). Even with the best ...

I don't feel I could get enough info about the game from the description. 1. Around how long is the game? 2. What does the world look like? Is there an overworld map or do you go from area to area directly? 3. How linear or open is the game?
