Fun Concept, But Latency Holds It Back

Drums Rock has potential, but I can’t recommend it until the developers fix the latency and drum detection issues. These problems make the gameplay frustrating, which is a shame because, when it works, it’s a blast.

The flying enemies—ugly creatures—don’t fit the vibe for me. I’d love the option to switch them out for something else, as long as it’s not animals or anything similar.

The soundtrack, however, is great, with solid rock and metal tracks that really pull you in. If the technical issues were resolved, this could easily become a must-have for rhythm game fans. Until then, I’d suggest looking elsewhere, as the current experience can be infuriating.

I tried so hard to set this game up by playing with the latency slider and even re-positioning drums. However, I still get a lot of mis-hits and overall this makes the game frustrating. They need some kind of setup wizard to walk us through the process of getting everything dialled in.
