The game is a bit like a Final Fantasy Tactics, but with a Game of Thrones like flair (the good seasons anyway). Each character has very unique mechanics, so the way you approach battles really does change depending on who you bring with you. It follows a consistent formula throughout - first you experience story cutscenes, then you're given "exploration" scenes where you talk to people and find hidden items, you then either enter a fight, or you convene a vote to decide which branching path you will take.

I played on normal, and that provides a decent challenge. At no point did I feel like it was a brainless chore, nor did I ever feel overwhelmingly challenged. I've only beaten it once thus far, and have only just started on my new game plus run, so I don't know for certain how much the events vary based on your choices, but I get the impression that at least a few key points will have a dramatic impact on how the rest of the game plays out.

At the very least, it seemed fairly obvious that your final choice WILL result in different endings. The graphics, aesthetics, UIn and sounds were all satisfactory to me. The game is complete. There are no annoying microtransactions, ads for other content, or obviously carved out content for DLC. I don't even think DLC exists for the game. The campaign is decently long as well. It took me around 60 hours to complete, and that was going at a relaxed pace - I didn't rush through, nor did I spend too much time grinding. I generally just kept my level at pace with or slightly under the recommendations for each combat.

Overall, I'd say it's an excellent game. Unlike with some of the Fire Emblem games, where I find the last few levels to be a little TOO much of a slog for me, this game did a good job presenting higher challenges in the last levels without going overboard with the number of enemies (though there were more than usual). The final level in the path I chose was also extremely different than the rest - it was an escort quest that actually was enjoyable (I didn't think that was possible). I just had to make very smart use of my tanks.
