An absolute hidden gem.

It is essentially a whole season and a movie of a good old Star Trek series, where every destination on your journey encompasses an episode - Each a largely self-contained point-click adventure with some pretty clever puzzles, a few very engrossing stories, and probably most impressively, multiple endings that can potentially impact the rest of your story.

When you're cruising through space, on the other hand, the game plays like FTL by Subset Games, only it's a beautifully handcrafted story instead of a randomly generated roguelike. The combat is actually really fun once you get the hang of it, and plays more like a puzzle using your wits rather than your reflexes.

The game is not too difficult, so don't feel like you really need to savescum too much. You'll probably want to replay the game at least a couple more times to really explore what's really out there. The game even makes it easy for you and lets you skip entire planets if you just want to repeat an outcome you've seen before.
