Dev Diary #10 | King Hotel, Sparky, Animations, and more…

Howdy, Partners!

Hope you’re all doing well and are ready for another update from the world of ExeKiller. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes, and today we’ve got a few exciting things to share with you. Let’s dive right in!

Hotel

First up, we’ve got a glimpse of the King Hotel! Now, don’t expect fancy suites or lavish decor - this isn’t that kind of place. Well, at least not anymore…

Once a symbol of luxury in Brooklyn, where the elite sipped from crystal glasses beneath golden chandeliers, striking deals behind closed doors. And now? The wind howls through its hollow halls, and the only ones left are outlaws, fugitives, and those who live by their own rules (it was recently claimed by the Blind Justice gang)!

And hey, if you’re in the area, don’t ask about those available rooms...

Sparky

Next, let’s talk about Sparky - the all-purpose welder turned survival essential. Built by Techtronik, this compact yet powerful tool is a must-have for anyone navigating the wasteland.

Primarily used for repairing vehicles and welding or fixing damaged cables, Sparky keeps things running when everything else is falling apart. And if you’re feeling creative, well… Let’s just say some wastelanders have found a more artistic use for it, leaving their mark one glowing line at a time.

Just be careful where you point it… Accidents do happen.

Animations Update

Now, time for something a little more... Deadly! We’ve improved animations for NPCs, meaning you’ll get to see some dramatic (and sometimes comical) falls when things go south. It’s a small detail, but it adds an extra layer of realism to the game.

Don’t just take our word for it - check out this compilation of spectacular deaths. We hope you’ll enjoy the results!

Computers

Meet Veritas - a seemingly old terminal, but in reality, a vital tool of Helion. Created by Techtronik, a company specializing in advanced electronics, this high-tech computer is used for personality and usability tests - for example, determining whether someone is still fit to be an ExeKiller.

Its keys may be worn, and its screen may flicker, but its purpose remains unchanged. This is no mere relic of the past - it’s a mechanism of selection, the final judgment that can decide a person’s fate.

Are there any projects to translate the game into other languages? I'm from the Brazilian community and I was very interested in the game. I would like to know if there are any future plans to translate to Portuguese.

Howdy, Partners!

Hope you're all doing great and are ready for another Dev Diary! It's been a while since the last one, but we've had a lot on our plate lately.

The good news is that we’ve hit some major milestones, and to back it up - we've got some exciting stuff to share with you today!

Drones

First up, let's talk about drones! In ExeKiller they may occasionally catch your eye when flying above, but beware – they’re not just for show. Stay alert and be careful when drones are nearby!

We showed them in the previous Dev Diary, but this time let's take a better look!

WIP

We also have some outdoor footage of post-apocalyptic Staten Island to share with you! Although it’s just a work-in-progress, it definitely showcases the environments and atmosphere in ExeKiller.

Dev Diary #8 | Drones, gas mask, two-headed snake, and more…

We hope you're all doing great and that you enjoyed our last devlog. We're always thrilled to keep you in the loop with what's cooking on the development front!

Today, we're diving into some of the recent goodies we've been working on. Expect mutated creatures, a sprinkle of futuristic gadgets, and - of course - some wardrobe essentials to kick things off!

New clothing

Worn Citrolla hat! You can check out the concept art and its in-game render to see how it evolved. We hope we managed to get that gritty post-apocalyptic vibe.

Gas Mask

Prepare for perilous radiation zones. Your gas mask is your lifeline, but filters won't last forever. Stay sharp and stay alive as you navigate these deadly areas.

Drones

Next on the list: drones!

They might not look like your typical drones from today, but trust us, they fit perfectly into the vibe we're going for. And stay sharp - they are more than just eye candy.

Two-headed snake

Get ready to encounter creatures that'll make you look again, like our two-headed snake. Double the heads, double the scare factor... But at least it looks quite dope, right?!

Will there be inventory Tetris?

I hate that. I never understood the appeal of moving weapons into the right spots in rectangles that are filled with squares. I also don't like working with Excel sheets. So I would the inventory streamlined and have as little menues as it could, as these really destroy immersion and the gameplay flow....
