Hello everyone! I am very pleased to finally share the newest 1.1.0 update. I'll cut right to the chase and list all of the newest editions to the game, with the fixes to follow.

But first, if you wish to support me, I’d like to celebrate the latest update by sharing two pieces of purchasable DLC for the game.

TC:WA soundtrack.This features all of the current music in the game, including some upcoming tracks that will be applied to the game later in future updates. You can get it here.

TC:WA supporter pack 1Introducing the first skins DLC that can be applied to all weapons currently in the game, including the new battle rifle that is included in this latest update. It’ll also give you the ability to change your laser colour to green for the attachments that can be applied. You can check it out here, with 40% already off the cheap price.

• Map extension and finale: Find all three keys to escape the asylum and to explore outside the grounds. Have the ability to escape if you can start up the car, and survive the finale onslaught, adding more to your final score.
  
• Battle rifle: Try out the new semi-automatic precision weapon, located on the second floor of the asylum. Being a reliable medium ranged weapon, it may just become your favourite firearm.
  
• New Screamers: Zombies be gone! Introducing the true horrors of the wasteland: Screamers! A great representation of how these violent, unreasonable beings are seen in my novels.
  
• New gore system: Explosive headshots, blood puddles and spattering chunks will surely be therapeutic, and bring you back for more. (After dozens of hours play testing these builds, seeing this never gets old. I may need help)
  
• Selectable characters, and gun inspection: Three playable characters have been added to the game, each with their lore-friendly background and five selectable skins to change up their tone. You can also inspect each usable weapon, read how they work, and how each attachment changes the behaviour of your weapon. Did you purchase the supporter pack DLC? Here is where you’ll be able to apply the skins, and change the laser colour.
  
• Leaderboards: What the highest score you can reach? Show it off on the Steam leaderboards. (This may be altered sometime in the future to cater to different modes and fixes.)

• You can now spend 1,500 points to on the second floor to unlock a quick escape back to the first floor. This is a great way to avoid using the tight and narrow stairs down. Be warned however, for you must use the stairs to climb back up.
  
• AR damage has been lowered by 25% while the shotgun has seen a 200% damage buff! (Whoa!)
  
• My fourth book has been added to the extras menu.
  
• You can now see your stowed weapons on your characters body.
  
• Fixed a bug where holding F to repair a barrier can be done no matter where you were in the map.
  
• The scope attachment for the sniper now zooms in much further than any other weapon.
  
• Added a new picture to the loading screen.
  
• Added 2 new achievements.
  
• A whole bunch of other minuscule bugs have been squished.

• When switching weapons, the camera sometimes snaps in a certain direction.
  
• Depending on the character you’re playing, the shoulders on the player model look very high while in the shack level.
  
• Only 1 golden machine Screamer is meant to spawn on round 10, but there appears to be 2 right now, earning you two gold keys when you kill them
  
• The laser for the supporter pack appears blue, when it’s meant to be green.

What to expect next?
Besides more bug fixes, we are moving on to work on a new map, one that will be bigger and more open than the asylum. Along with that will be yet another new weapon, another playable character, and a few other additional pieces of content to explore in the game.

January has been a very productive month, and we are very close to releasing the next update. Here is a summary on what to expect in the next week or two for when the update finally launches.


Within a weeks time, you will be able to purchase the first piece of official content for TC:WA. The soundtrack will come with 15 tracks that are currently in the game, with some that have yet to make the cut. You can wishlist it now, and once it's out, for the first 7 days, you'll be able to purchase it for 40% off.

As of writing this, the map extension for the asylum level is close to finishing. This is the very last piece of the puzzle that is needed before we finally launch the update. Here are some preview pictures of what it is going to look like. All that there is to do is lighting, terrain detail, some extra props, and coverage of far points.

In order to get outside, you will need to find 3 keys within the asylum. 2 of them spawn randomly with every new playthrough. Depending on how observant you are, you should be able to escape the facility as early as round 10.

The bronze key will spawn in one of the three staircases that lead to nowhere. Be warned, searching for this key in the middle of a round will surely result in your death.
The silver key will spawn in one of the hanging body bags that scatter throughout the level. In order to take it, you must shoot the correct body bag to extract the key. If you have a sharp eye however, you will be able to tell what body holds the key.
The gold key can only be taken by force. During round 10, a special golden machine screamer will spawn and come after you. Kill it in order to take that key. After you have all 3, you will be able to leave the asylum, and will have the opportunity to escape!

The battle rifle meets you in the middle of being an accurate gun, but one that is also quick to tear through lines of Screamers. As usual, it has 5 attachments that can be applied that will make this weapon more of a deadly tool.

Once the update is live, you’ll be greeted by a more accurate representation on the horror of what a Screamer looks like in my novels. They will replace the zombies that are currently in the game, along with some new sounds to go with them.

Leaderboards:
After some testing and further adjustments, we have now got leaderboards working. Once the update is live, your scores will be publicly displayed on Steam, adding a somewhat competitive edge to the game itself. I can’t wait to see how far some people can get.

There is so much more that is going to be added in this update, but I won’t put it all up on here. Once this is live within a week or two, there’s a lot more to discover. Until then, have a good long weekend, for my Australian players.
