Enjoying this game as I did with Mutant Year Zero. I like the RPG with the turn based tactical combat, this is right up my alley.

MIASMA CHRONICLES is a mix of X-Com-like strategy game coupled with the RPG trappings of a young boy and his robot out to save the world, set in a unique post-apocalyptic America where a deadly Miasma consumes most of the country. Wish I liked this more.

There is a "correct" way to play this game, and it involves sneaking around stealth-killing lone guards out of the sightlines of their teammates. I'm all about that stealth life, but when that tactic isn't viable (ie sticks you in an arena) then you're in for a punishing time.

The story is also unbalanced: the first act runs for considerably longer than the rest of the game; so by the time our heroes' journey REALLY begins, the game is 2/3rds over and so much plot and plot twists gets crammed in the last couple of hours it becomes a little hilarious.

I enjoyed those first hours of the game when the world was all steeped in rich possibilities with a twist of mystery - but by the end of the game it all seemed so... small. And the characters kept fumbling the idiot ball among themselves. Voice acting was pretty great though!
