I want to recommend this game, i really do as i've played tons of different farming sims. even the mini games are a nice change of pace for their specific tasks, but it just... its not complete. it's just not. Overall it was alright till the 10th dude comes in and he gives a buttload of quests that are slow to get complete. this said, even the quests! a lot of them just are poorly timed even. i'm still playing because it does scratch an itch, but don't get this game at full price if you do think of grabbing it. wait for a sale because as of 1.0 its still very much incomplete.

I really wanted to like this farming sim, but I eventually gave up after struggling with its directionless pacing, uninteresting repetition, and unfulfilled potential. I would check out whatever effort these developers made next, but this felt too much like a practice run.

Yes, I know that this sort of game is slow and can lack overall goals. What its competitors do to compensate is give you a bunch of smaller, shorter-term goals that then open up new possibilities and additional short-term goals. Because progression is gated by time, not any player input, you only get the barest hints from item descriptions or vendor conversations that something might be coming later, but you can't plan money or resources since you don't know what will be required.

Yes, I know that this sort of game has a lot of repetitive tasks. Making those tasks individually enjoyable, or having them build up to larger goals, can make up for that. As I said previously, those goals are few and far between (and they're often dependent on stuff out of your control). But to make matters worse, once you've unlocked a mini-game and played it once, there's basically nothing new to discover - no new elements, no new dialogue, nothing new to collect after the first run or two (until an arbitrary number of days passes and you have a new segment unlocked).

Yes, most indie developers can't expand on their theme or gameplay to the fullest. But in this case, the idea of developing a colony on a barren rock and slowly transforming it (and the planet) into something flourishing sounds like a great premise, but the execution is poor. All the mysteries of the plot seem to drop themselves in your lap early and unceremoniously. All the terraforming is basically outside your control. The colony only develops when new people arrive, but only just barely. And within a fairly short time, all of those interesting premises are basically abandoned for a farming sim with no other unique ideas.

This game is functional, nice to look at, and it has some things going for it. But in a world with so many other games with so many outstanding reasons to recommend them, I just don't feel like continuing this one.
