If you're thinking of buying this game for Detective Mode, don't bother. Spend your money on any of the plethora of games out there that are properly focused on investigation/crime-solving. Detective Mode in this game is not truly casual. You're still on a timer every night, so once you get to the later nights and have a higher case number quota, good luck being able to read all the reports and evidence to properly investigate. You also still have to complete a minigame for hacking the phones, which gets increasingly difficult as you go along. It is technically skippable if you buy "keys" that will auto-hack for you, but the only way to earn more money is to complete extra cases beyond the quota each night, and considering that almost every single case will require hacking into the phone for evidence...you can see how this is not actually a solution. And all this becomes particularly problematic when you get the cases with an "unknown" suspect. Demographics will narrow it down to maybe 3 possible people, but again - almost everything worth reading is in the phones, so that's 3 phones you'll need to hack to figure out who the correct person is. So whereas you started this game thinking that it's really interesting to read all the cases and figure out what's going on in each situation, you will end up just looking up the solutions in a guide because you're out of money to hack more phones and/or out of time to read up on three different people to even figure out who's involved, let alone whether they are guilty or not.
