Alrighty my Game crashed as I was going to a city and it already gave me a reminder of bandits will start showing up soon is it because of this? I reopened my game and my save is gone meaning I have to start all over again

Hey now i havent tested it beyond game crashed the first time, my fault that i hadnt "saved" but still why did that crash to start obviously frustrated at the total loss of the game i restart and make certain i saved at regular intervals so as to avoid the game loss under the assumption a crash was inevitable. However it seems it did not save or the crash removes my save file. i hadnt saved and turned the game off voluntarily yet so i dont know if that would ♥♥♥♥ it up too....
