I thought I was getting the baddy but suddenly the story stopped, is my game bugged ?

How does one progress in the Master of Investigation achievement? I am at 4/10 and have no idea how. Thank you.

On PC, find the first object to start the combo meter, then rapidly press the escape button three times. The combo meter will freeze.

When I first install the game, I saw an egg-shaped object for zooming out or zooming in. However, now that I know my need to zoom out a bit, I can't figure out how to get back to that setting. Thanks.
