We’ve included a famously classic location – the Lion Tower – from the original Water Margin novel into the game for players to immerse themselves in the experience of a historical scene. This update is also our most anticipated one since this game went live.

For those who’ve read the Water Margin, who wouldn’t reminisce over the classic chapter where “Wu Song killing Ximen Qing at Lion Tower”?

In the story of Wu Song, his courage, resolution and martial prowess are off the charts, and his motif of justice is deeply etched into everyone’s hearts.

As for a much-lauded landmark like the Lion Tower, be it in movies or literary works, this mysterious building has always been the heart of where justice and vice collide, where the good and evil mingle, a place of both danger and the unknown, of unspeakable sin and brimming temptation: a crossroads of myriad characters.

This place shrouded in enigmatic charisma can finally be unveiled to everyone in Outlaw VR, where they can personally explore its dark corners with modern technology.


Regarding Lion Tower’s design, we combined our imaginations with the original environment. We retained the ancient dynastic features of that era with a new creative spin of our own in other aspects. Both the location’s exterior and interior designs have been intricately carved in exquisite detail. The exterior design maintains the Lion Tower’s unique splendor and mystery in its full glory.

Gameplay-wise, Lion Tower Saga will keep the update fresh by providing players with a new combat and scenery experience. Players will unlock the different level by their own effort, even will unlock the mystery enormous weapon to join the game, make the whole experience more excited and start different fight.


Apart from the above, this update also adds a “Stamina” setting to the game. All close combat attacks consume the main character’s stamina to present an experience that best mirror’s real life.

The addition of stamina has also changed the more mindless early-game gameplay to a certain extent. Players must now consider how to best utilize their stamina in each and every challenge. A simple “fist flailing” combat mode now requires strategy and skill over the course of battle, where the stakes are higher now.


The result of player feedback about optimizing “boss battles” will also go live! During the fight with first boss One Blade Xuanwu at the Tavern, players will be able to experience a much smoother and visually clearer battle pace.

We’ve smoothed out the boss’ attacks and added visual cues on their moves. Players must choose to execute attacks or perform defensive dodges according to the situation, thus enriching the boss battle experience.


We’ve also optimized level enemy count and spawns at the Tavern. Plenty of environmental and combat details have been fine-tuned for a smoother and more natural experience.


Optimization for the “Training Camp” story animation has also been ongoing according to feedback to increase player immersion in the story. All are welcome to experience the changes.

To provide a better experience for players in the game, sound effects and character voiceovers have also been improved. The English voiceovers for foreign players have also been optimized to a certain extent.

Many bugs reported by players have also been fixed and/or optimized in this update, which will improve the entire game’s overall experience.


All in all, Outlaw VR has not just largely improved the game experience for players, but also has new modes and events for added content and scale.

We’ve also got more game content planned in the pipeline to improve your game experience, and will continue to optimize and improve on existing game content. We plan to release multiplayer mode this summer, where players can dive into the world of the Water Margin with a couple of friends to explore the tribulations, challenges and tales of the pugilistic world.
