Fun game!

Haiku The Robot is certainly a familiar Metroidvania, especially for those well acquainted with the genre's finest. While it doesn't attempt to do anything particularly unique within the Metroidvania space, it's a competent adventure that will tide genre fans over until the next heavy-hitter arrives.

At first I didn't like the palette too much and was scared it was going to stay that way for a long time but as I discovered more and more I came across regions that I really liked. This game is very reminiscent of Hollow Knight (so for someone like me who was iching for more after playing Hollow Knight, it is great in that sense) but it has it's own unique charm and cool mechanics that come from being a world of robots. I like the bosses and the creativity in the design of some of the enemies. The npcs are also very charming. I think my only bigger issue with the game is the music and sounds (which I deal with by readjusting the settings, so it's manageable), but that mainly personal preference.
All in all, a lot of love went into this game, it has nice graphics, cool characters, nice surprises, a pretty big map with so much to discover, but it's also not revolutionary. So for whoever is looking for a nice metroidvania adventure with lots of exploration this game is just right. If you liked Hollow Knight and like robots, I think you might enjoy this game.
