I'm currently ~15 hours into the game and I would say that I recommend it to anyone that loves
- Collectathon mechanics
- Large worlds full of secrets around [literally] every corner
- Not having a game tell you what to do / where to go needlessly

My only real complaints with the game so far:
- All of the "Cull" options (hiding what you can't see) result in a lot of flashing. IMO, an option to have the out-of-sight tiles just turn to Greyscale, without the big lighting changes, would drastically help with this.
- The game is oddly zoomed in *unless* you have it in an Ultra Widescreen layout. Not knowing this, I played zoomed-in for my first ~5 hours, and only realized it when I went to link the store page to someone and noticed the trailer gameplay looked different.
- Despite the previous issue, the game doesn't offer resolution settings, so you have to set it to Windowed Mode and then manually adjust the window. It also doesn't save your adjustments, so when you launch it next, you'll need to re-adjust it.
- While the lack of strong railroading/hand-holding is overall nice, the vague guidance is almost *too vague* for some of the pretty significant items.
- The above problem is exacerbated by an imposed tension created by resource scarcity. The scarcity, combined with NPC comments that implied that there might not be enough resources almost had me drop the game at the 5 hour mark, when I felt that I was in too deep to want to start all over. I think that this could be somewhat aided by having a/an NPC(s) that assure the player that they are probably going to be OK resource-wise, as long as they keep looking.
- There are some areas that overstay their welcome a bit for having the player demonstrate that they know a mechanic, or impose an extra tedium. When you consider that these areas will often need to be backtracked (such as the player not being able to progress completely through them), they become really draining.

I'll try to update this if/when I finish the game-- but despite my complaints, I would recommend this to anyone who is even remotely interested-- it's an incredibly unique experience!
