Game becomes unresponsive at random.

See title. The mouse icon is there, and moves when I move the mouse, but no clicks seem to register. The music keeps playing, but the game's animations are frozen. The window responds to the use of function keys (eg. F4 to switch between fullscreen and windowed), but the game itself does not; the animations remain frozen. Any help would be appreciated. As is, the game is essentially unplayable. Update: After trying to play a bit more, I had the game display this issue while I was in a shop. I found...
