Really fun rogue-lite. Solo and co-op. Actually my second favorite, now, after Hades!

Don't let the beginning with simple weapons and rather slow combat fool you!
You'll quickly unlock new weapons, weapon and skill upgrades, new perks, relics, mechanics, and a "heat" system with difficulty modifiers like in Hades.
You will quickly get synergies in every run and combat will become a frantic adrenaline rush with different boss variants keeping you on your toes!

Once you unlock some meta progression it gets a lot deeper and faster, with weapon mods, etc.
In co-op, the screen can get a little busy and cluttered with effects, but is fun. It also has 'remote play together', so only one needs to buy the game to invite friends.

If you enjoy Hades, you're gonna like Ember Knights' weapon variety and fast-paced combat with diverse skills to choose from.
There isn't much to the story, though.

Definitely worth 20 bucks and a no-brainer on sale. I regret not getting it sooner than December 2024.

Great game with fun mechanics, but it gets repetitive after a few runs. While playing with friends can still be enjoyable, the lack of variety in powers and abilities makes it feel stale over time
To be honest, the game doesn’t feel like it’s worth its full price considering how little content there is. Adding more diverse skills and deeper synergies could really elevate the experience.
If you’re 100% sure about getting this game, then go for it—otherwise don’t
