I was very confused, I made the ladder entirely out of tree trunks, but it still broke before it was long enough, is there a bug？

Hi there, I must be missing something - I was able to figure the other 2 achievements out, but how do I get the Ladder Ending? Everytime I make the ladder too big, it breaks, and if I make the ladder at the length where it doesnt break it doesn't seem to reach :( Loooove the game, the dinos are so cute :)...

so I just finished the game and got all three achievements - however, it doesn't count towards my "perfect games" number on steam. not sure if this is an issue on steam's side or something the developers can do something about? I realize its not a big deal but I'd love to have it in my 100% collection...
