Goofling Around

Beskrivning
A small, short puzzle. Difficulty should be medium to maybe a little on the hard side.

There are almost certainly alternate ways to solve this, but some will take a lot more effort than others.

Feedback is absolutely welcome and encouraged.

Update 1: minor cosmetic changes.
Update 2: preventing two alternate solutions I've seen.

Wow! I'm impressed, I needed to think more because it was... unusual. I thought that every concepts involving conversion are too easy or already used. Surprising.

I'd be very thankful if somebody try out one of levels from my workshop.

Hi! Nice chamber but as always with the conversion gel it was a little bit of meticulous work with painting everything. Here's a blind playthrough video: http://youtu.be/vOhOqwkQUIU
As you can see, I was goofing around quite a bit, died a few times but overall, I've enjoyed the chamber.
Cheers and thanks for making!

Just solved it. Clever.
Though my solution was a little different to what you said below.

What I did was:
1) I put the excursion funnel under the gel, and got it into the main funnel.
2) I moved the funnel to the lowest possible white surface on the right wall (when you're facing the gel and excursion funnel)
3) I mashed the polarity button until the gel went through, then as it went back into reverse...
4) I moved my portal so that the gel would fall down and coat the wall.
5) I repeated steps 1 and 2, and got the gel on the black box (on the left wall)
6) I moved the excursion funnel onto that newly painted stop and got to the exit.

i did the press button until gel funnel hits the wall method until you changed it. cheers

Just pushed an update that blocks the two alternate solutions I've seen. Unfortunately this results in the layout feeling increasingly contrived :/

toncica: Thanks for the comments! That's certainly not my intended solution, and while probably a little slower is more straightforward.

Intended Solution:

Throw the blue portal on the conversion gel spot and the orange opposite the excursion funnel. Use the button to flip the polarity until there's a spot on the ceiling. Now flip it back and forth a build up a large blob of gel vertically in front of the gel dropper. Once you have a big blob, throw the orange portal at the ceiling directly above the blue portal. The gel will now start falling in a loop, reaching rather large velocities. Turn around and throw the orange portal on the portalable wall that extends down towards the goo, centered, about 1 block below the floor level you're standing on. The conversion gel will fly across the gap, producing a nice portable spot on the opposite wall, ideally centered between the lights. Throw one portal at this spot and the other opposite the funnel. Jump down into the funnel and slide out as you pass the walkway to the exit.

Why would you tell the solution right in the first comment in plain text? I've never seen somebody doing that. At least you could use spoiler tags . About the puzzle I can't say very much. I guess it's ok for a small first puzzle. White gel is probably my least favorite thing in Portal and I wish it had never existed. Most of the time it's just messing around with it and the outcome can be unexpected. Only in rare cases the conversion gel is put to good use. Most often it opens up unintended solutions. For example: http://youtu.be/YSGL4D-ys5s
That is certainly much easier and faster than your solution.
